Out Of The Cold

OUT OF THE COLD PODCAST

In the United States, over 600,000 people are reported missing each year but most of them are found. Right now, there are around 90,000 people in America whose whereabouts are unknown. Some people disappear and nobody ever calls it in.

Each year there are under 20,000 homicides in the US, meaning you have more chance of being hit by lightning. Just under half of those cases will never be solved and you will never hear about them. Between 1980 and 2008 alone, police forces across America amassed some 185,000 cold cases. Some of the victims will never be identified.

There are between 25 and 50 active serial killers in America today. Many of these killers have not been identified and the authorities have no idea when or where they will strike next.

A handful of expert investigators have come together to bring some of these tragic stories of invisible lives, unsolved cases, and unknown killers out of the cold.

Out Of The Cold is a fortnightly documentary podcast presented by former police officer and Scotland Yard whistleblower James Patrick.

  2. Patrick,

I have a cold case from back in 1979. It was a young female who was apparently sexually assaulted and her body was dumped alongside the highway just south of Payson, AZ. Payson is about 70 miles north of Phoenix. I was wondering if there is any connection with my case and Rhodes?

    1. David,

Do you have some more details on the case? Would love to have a closer look at that and see if it’s connected.

      James

  3. I recently heard about Robert Ben Rhoades- and saw immediate correlations to situations in my personal life- I was a 17 year old (runaway) hitchhiker in the late 70’s early 80s I lived and left on my journey with my 17 y.o boyfriend at the 1-70 exit near Greenville IL, I knew I had to purchase the book “Roadside Prey” and like the author had trouble locating a copy and anxiously awaited it. Then within a couple days of reading the book I discovered this PodCast when watching one of my favorite channels- “TIR”- Episode “The Emotional Arsonist” , Also I use the phrase “Council of 3 Fires” as my handle on some platforms-(Council Bluffs)… With the Universe lining up along the axis of evil, I was convinced I need to join the cold Case foundation. I don’t know where this will lead, but I know Ive been led here-

  4. Read your book Broken Roads. I was interested about you writing him as in where you wrote to him . I wonder if he would talk to a relative .

    1. Hi Rebecca,

Thanks for reaching out! It’s possible. You never know for sure how one of these monsters will respond.
